This kit is a glue-on replacement solution to replace or repair the Velcro strip that runs up the B or C pillar and across the back of the crew cab HMMWV top.
The Velcro strip across the 4-man or 2-man top is how cargo covers, troop covers, soft slant backs and other bed covers are attached and kept water resistant.
Without this strip you cannot mount a bed cover.
Commonly the stitching tears out and is problematic to replace.
This kit contains a 10.5' long dual-sided Velcro clamshell strip, special glue, a spreader and a piece of chalk for marking. Starting at the center and moving to each side, the glue is spread on and the Velcro strip put down. It sounds easy because it is. ONLY this glue worked out of DOZENS tried.
The kit comes with two tubes of glue as a precaution, even though one should be enough.
This glue is VERY strong. In destructive test-to-failure testing the vinyl tears before the glue. This means a VERY strong join, as strong as stitching.
